Dr. Rishi Handa serves as the Medical Director for Durham Care Clinic + Pharmacy, Director of the Durham Care Diabetes Education Program, and the Director of Research at Handa Medicine Research and Centricity Oshawa.
Dr. Handa embarked on his medical journey in New Jersey, USA, where he served as the Chief Resident, Instructor of Medicine, and Cardiac Rehab Supervisor. Today, he brings this extensive background to his practice at Durham Care Clinic in Oshawa, serving as an internal medicine specialist.
His professional interests are as diverse as they are impactful. Dr. Handa is particularly passionate about diabetes, thyroid diseases, weight management, and cardiology. As a Collaborating Physician at various diabetes education centers, he actively contributes to advancing diabetes care and education in the community. Dr. Handa's commitment to education extends beyond his patients as he frequently speaks for his fellow health care providers.
As the Principal Investigator at the Centricity Research site, Dr. Handa leads groundbreaking research initiatives, focusing on a spectrum of cardio-metabolic disorders, pushing the boundaries of medical knowledge and contributing to the advancement of healthcare.

Dr. Damian Wijeyesinghe graduated from the University of Toronto's Family Medicine program in 2013. He has amassed over a decade of clinical experience in family practice, emergency medicine and hospital-based medicine.
He has a special interest in diabetes and obesity and is actively involved as an investigator in clinical trials focused on advancing treatment modalities and improving outcomes in these areas. He has also been appointed assistant professor at Queen's University Department of Family Medicine.
Driven by a passion for health and fitness, Dr. Wijeyesinghe has obtained certification as a personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He hopes to provide his patients with a comprehensive understanding of their health and well-being, while empowering them to achieve optimal health.
